National Organisation for Responsible Micro, Small & Medium-sized Businesses is a not-for-profit, member-owned company limited by guarantee, Registered in England and Wales, Company Registration No. 14248089, Regsitered Office 84 Wimborne Road, Southend-on-Sea, Essex SS2 4JR.
Our trading name is Organisation for Responsible Businesses, often abbreviated to ORB.

Our commitment
We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our web site. In particular, we want you to know that ORB has not in the past, and will not at any time in the future sell, rent or trade email lists with other companies and businesses for marketing purposes.
In this Privacy Policy, you can find lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.
Here at ORB we’ve also tried our best to make this as simple as possible and in plain english. Do please get in touch if you think there is anyway we could improve this document, or if you would like any clarification on anything written in this policy.

We use cookies on this website to provide you with a better user experience. Cookies that we use are Google Analytics
Google Analytics: When someone visits the ORB website(s) we use Google Analytics to collect standard internet visitor logging information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site and general trends regarding what customers are looking at, how they got to the site, and what they did when they arrived. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. Just to clarify all this data is anonymous, and the data within Google Analytics, cannot be used on it’s own to identify a visitor.
Please note: our online courses are offered and operated via a separate website to which a separate cookie policy applies to ensure course participants gain maximum benefit.
Data and Mailing lists
As part of the registration process for our email newsletter, we collect a limited amount of personal and company contact information for non-members. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about in the form of a newsletter. In addition we may use these details to send your revised Terms and Conditions, Privacy Polices and other documents and give you an opportunity to opt-out. We may also use these mailing lists to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied.
As explained in the introduction, we do not rent, sell or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, Campaign Monitor, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletter. Membership
If you apply for membership of ORB, you will be required to provide, via an online application, more detailed information about your company and also complete a questionnaire. This information is stored securely and is not accessible by / or shared with third parties. As detailed below, you have a right to ask for this information to be deleted from our database.
Should you proceed to membership your core company details, plus details provided by you to promote your company, are profiled inb in the Responsible Business Directory. you listing may also be shared via social media platforms. Please see Terms and Conditions of Membership for more information.
Courses
Online courses are developed and managed by ORB but are accessible and usable from a separate website. Please see specific Terms and Conditions relating to the website and courses as detailed on the website.
Access to your personal information
You have the right to access, amend and delete any personal that ORB holds on you. In order to access, amend or delete this data please do get in contact with our data protection officer: Jill Poet at jill@orbuk.org. Our data deletion policy allows us to cleanse our data of your personal information, whilst retaining certain project, service and admin documents if necessary for legal, accounting and business operational purposes.
Changes to this privacy policy
We last reviewed and changed our privacy policy on 19th February 2024. Reviews and amendments to the privacy policy will be published on the ORB website(s). Significant changes to policies will be published via mailing lists to our customers and suppliers. We will review the policy during significant legislation changes, changes to our inbound, outbound and internal data flows, and when there are changes to the internal systems we use for data storage.
