Funding to support collections of food waste from businesses in England - call for demonstration projects

An exciting funding opportunity is available to support organisations who want to start collecting food waste from businesses or to expand existing services.  Up to £100,000 is available for applicants to purchase capital equipment for projects that meet the scope and requirements of the programme and that score well against the evaluation criteria.

The purpose of the funding is the collection of food waste from Small to Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), public sector buildings and larger businesses. The financial assistance is available to local authorities, private sector or community sector organisations.  Funding is available for a 3 year period from December 2011.


Please note that the funding round for the financial year ending 31 March 2012 closed on 3 February 2012.

The closing date for applications for the next round is 23 March 2012. Please ensure that all applications are fully completed with all supporting evidence prior to submission.

Projects serving households are out of scope for this funding.
